Digital Literacy

What does digital literacy look like in the EDDA initiative?

Students are learning how to do productive online research on civic and political issues, and determine the credibility of those sources. Students are creating blogs and posting opinion pieces on platforms like Youth Voices dispatch_logowhere they can engage in online dialogue with peers across the country about issues in their school and communities that matter to them. Students are raising awareness about issues they care about – teen safety, the environment, teen pregnancy, teen employment – by creating videos, websites, blogs, infographics and circulating civic and political information to their networks through social media.

One student created a blog on Gender Equality

Another student created a website on the environment with ideas for how to take action – Taking Environmental Action

Two students created a presentation on the Educational Divide to present to 5th graders.

Students also created Infographics and Wikis.

Students in one class created “Angry Political Videos”
